1. Location:
a. Find a quiet place with minimal background noise (indoor or outdoor).
b. Avoid wind or traffic noise if filming outside.
c. Avoid visual distractions (people passing by)
2. Framing & Camera Setup:
a. Use a phone, tablet, webcam, or camera on a tripod or on a stable surface.
b. Frame yourself from the waist or chest up.
c. Look into the camera lens.
d. Be expressive and enjoy yourself!
3. Lighting:
a. Face a natural light source or use a lamp behind your camera.
b. Avoid strong back-lighting that puts your face in shadow.
4. Audio:
a. Speak clearly and at a steady pace.
b. Test your microphone or phone mic before the final take.
Requirements for the Virtual Poetry competition
5. Performance:
a. NOTE: The SUBMITTED clip MUST be recorded in one take from commencement to the end of your presentation ANY breaks in the video performance will disqualify the piece.
We encourage you to film as many takes as you need to get your final result –

b. REMEMBER your piece will be judged on PERFORMANCE & MEMORISATION, similar to a live competition stage performance.
c. You will NOT be judged on Video technicalities (VFX etc).
d. Stick to the allowed time limit of FIVE (5) minutes including preamble.

a. Save your video as an MP4 file (1080p or lower).
